The
Playfair
encryption scheme was originally developed in the late 1800's by Mr. Wheatstone, a British embasy official if memory serves. It is a form of a substitution digraph encryption scheme where pairs of letters are encrypted to pairs of encrypted letters. To futher illustrate this process, enter two "pass phrases" into the boxes below and press "continue".
